The following guidelines
are designed to help our students attain the highest benefits from
their classes and to eliminate misunderstanding among parents, students
and instructors.
1. Placement of a student
in a division or class is governed by the individual's potential
and technical proficiency not necessarily by age or length of training.
2. Promptness and regular
attendance are important in aiding your child's progress. Classes
missed due to illness may be made up. No refunds will be given for
unattended classes, vacations or holidays. Students that arrive
15 minutes late and missing the primary warm-up will not be allowed
to participate in class. However, they must stay and watch the remainder
of the class to ensure they do not get behind with new techniques.
3. Students are to wear
the uniform designated for that particular class or division. For
ballet classes, hair must be worn up and secured in a bun. For all
other styles of dance, hair must be in a pony tail and away from
the face. Students will not be permitted to participate in class
unless properly attired; however, they must stay and watch to keep
from getting behind in lessons.
4. Stud earrings are
the ONLY jewelry allowed in the classroom. No other kind of jewelry
will be allowed. Students must wear a cover up to and from classes
when outside the building.
5. Instructors have the
right to discipline unruly students. Students that are disrespectful
or acting out during class will be asked to report to the office.
For a second offence, the parents will be called for a conference
with the instructor. If inappropriate behavior continues, the studio
reserves the right to refuse the student back into class.
6. Please put your child's
name in all dance supplies: tote bag, shoes, leotard etc.
7. There will be a ‘Visitor's
Day’ in the fall and in the spring. Parents will be invited at this
time. Permission for special guests, at other times is to be cleared
through the office. Out of town Grandparents and visiting relatives
are always welcome.
8. Our Annual Recital
is held in the spring. Participating in the Recital is not mandatory;
however, we have found it to be a valuable and unique experience
for our students. We do encourage everyone to participate.
9. For reasons of safety;
students must remain in the waiting room for their rides and are
not permitted to wait outside or in parking areas. Parents are asked
not to allow children to play in the parking lots or outside the
building. Please contact the office to let us know if you are having
your child picked up by someone other than yourself.
10. Chewing gum is absolutely
not tolerated in the studios. Drinks are also not permitted in the
studios.
We are always delighted
to speak with you about your child’s progress. However, under no
circumstances will this be done during or between classes. Please
contact the office for an appointment (581-3559). Thank you for
your cooperation in these matters.
