Lakeway School of Ballet & Dance offers instruction in pre-ballet, ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, tap, hip hop, breaking, and partnering. Classes are offered to students ages 3 to adult. The school opened in Morristown in August 2005, offering the community over 50 years of combined experience in the instruction of dance.

Ashley Cunningham is an Instructor and Artistic Director. Susan Potter is an Instructor, Assistant Artistic Director and Business Manager. The school's focus is to train dancers in the various disciplines with an emphasis on proper technique, while instilling a love and appreciation for the art. Our goal is to support the Morristown communities by educating dancers through the schools, community theatre, and community projects.

Lakeway School of Ballet & Dance is a member of the Tennessee Associa-tion of Dance (TAD) and the National Dance Educator's Association (NDEA). It is also the home of The Downtown Dance Theatre, a performing/competing dance company. Members of the dance company attend dance conventions and workshops several times a year to enhance their experience, knowledge, and technique. Students accepted into the company are re-quired to take at least two ballet classes a week as well as tap, and jazz.
