Modern
Dance was initially created by ballet dancers who wanted to escape
the rigors of ballet. Modern Dance is ever-growing and ever-changing
and can easily be termed "creative movement," or "contemporary
dance." It develops as dance and dance exploration. The contemporary
title should not be confused with today's hip-hop or video-style
dancing, however. Modern dance is still an extremely expressionate
form of dance, linked closely with nature, breathing, falling, and
escaping. Its strength comes from the spine, pelvis, or chest ;and
it rests solely in the heart of the instructor/choreographer.
