| Downtown Dance Theatre is an
auditioned performing/competing dance company. Auditions are
held in the spring for ages 10 to 18. Students who are selected
as a D.D.T. company member get to participate in two to three
convention/competitions a year. They are featured in the recital
as D.D.T. and parents have reserved front row seats at the
recital.
Company trips such as New York trips and traveling to see
Mr. Ashley in the Nutcracker each year are just a couple of
the activities in which they participate. The student is required
to take at least two technique classes, and 1 jazz class a
week. However, just about all of the company members take
the required classes as well as modern, tap, hip hop and break
dancing.
D.D.T. company members also participates in community outreach
such as art festivals, nursing homes, retirement communities
etc.
The Company meets every Saturday at 9am. They typcially start
with the company class and then begin rehearsals at 2pm.
